About Nrutal Dance Academy

Nrutal Institution is renowned dance Institution for dance enthusiast for over 25 years.

It provides training on Bharatanatyam, folk, Bollywood and various dance styles. Dance director Niyati Shah, along with her mother Preeti Shah has trained over 1100+ students across globe.

Many disciples from Nrutal dance academy have successfully completed their Bharatanatyam Aradhana – Arangetram; also most of the students have successfully completed dance exam conducted by Akhil Bhartiya from Prarambhik (beginner) to Visharad. Along with that, students have performed on various classical and non-classical dance shows organized by various popular dance groups.

In 1991, Niyati Shah and Preeti Mehta participated in International dance festival in France where along with 30+ kids represented Gujarat, Ahmedabad.

There are several shows and ballet being telecast at Doordarshan (local Indian channel) including Holi, Mira, Bal Krishna, Melo etc.

After migrating to USA in 2002, Niyati Shah has continued it’s dance journey and started teaching at India Community Center, Choreographed at Zingaris dance troupes and became creative director at JCNC (Jain center for Northern California) teams have performed Bihu dance which was performed at “Jaina Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio”. Along with choreographing, Niyati Shah is passionate about performing and have performed at various prestigious platforms including Naatak – US largest drama company, Federation of Indo- American Association (FIA), Global Miss India Award at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium San Francisco, Daglo (Gujarati Sahitya music and dance concert).

Niyati Shah is Nrutya Visharad in Bharatanatyam – South Indian classical dance. She has also successfully completed Arangetral. She is recipient of many awards including first place in Akhil Bhartiya Yuvak Mahotsav, Yuvak Seva and Sanskrutik Activity – one of the 3 prizes in this country level competition and first prize in Kal ke kalakar - Gujarat Rajya Sangit Natak Academy.

  • Taught Indian Folk Dance, Bollywood dance to kinds of varios age groups during 2004 summer camp.

Choreographer and Performer, Zingaris Dance Troupe

  • Indian Folk Dance ( Rass Dandiya- Gujarat State) which includes 6 male and 6 female pariticipants. Performance to take place at yerba bauna Centre for the Arts, San Francisco in June 2004.

Choreographer and Performer, Jain center of Northern California (JCNC)

  • Hollywood /Bollywood fusion dance included 6 female participants. Performed at ‘JCNC Volunteer recognition’
  • Indian Folk Dance (Bihu dance – Madhya Pradesh state) on a Hindi movie included 4 bous and 4 girls. Performed at ‘Jaina Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio’.

Choreography of numerous dances based

  • Choreography of numerous dances based on Hindi movie songs, traditional folk dances, contemporary dances, funsions and songs based on Indian gods and goddesses. One of these dances named ‘Krishna ballry’ was also televised on national television.

Performances

  • Solo performance of Bharatnatyam (Kalakshetra style- South Indian Dance) at FIA (Federation of Indo-American Association)
  • Group Perfoemance named ‘Pushpanjali’ (Dance with flowers and lights in devotion of God).
  • Performed a Bollywood style dance (on Hindi Movie Song- ‘Dola Re’) at Global Miss India Awards held in Bill Graham Civic Auditoriom, San Francisco.
